The Infidel and the Ghost of Moscow

In 1938 Moscow, young diplomat Mark Russell struggles to survive the bitter winter at the U.S. Embassy as tensions rise leading up to a second world war. But when he meets a brilliant and mysterious woman, Russ finds himself drawn into a dangerous affair that could jeopardize his career.

As Russ’s infatuation with the married woman grows, his self-righteous boss discovers their relationship and punishes him with a poor review. Desperate to salvage his reputation, Russ plans to redeem himself at his next assignment in Kuwait City. However, his hopes are dashed when he encounters an arrogant superior who refuses to be outdone by his subordinates. To make matters worse, a consular officer with her own troubled past joins the Legation, making Russ question if he will ever be able to forget his former lover from the Russian steppe. As Russ forges a path to his future, the stakes continue to rise and the consequences of his actions become more dire.
