Temper’s Mistake

Detective Leia Temper is on the scene in a brutal, baffling case set in the rugged Colorado Rockies.

A man is beaten to death outside his cabin near Salida. The scene is savage but contained, one victim, one weapon.

Temper knows how to work a case, but this one refuses to behave like any she has encountered before. One moment it seems solved, even if the motive is unclear. The next, the prime suspect is dead.

Each new clue leads her further astray. Each riddle means one more mistake.

But her greatest mistake isn’t missing the bigger picture. It’s suspecting the one man who knows what lies behind it.
