Black Diamond Death

On a crisp summer day, Charlotte Halliwell begins her morning the same way she always does, skiing on the slopes of a black diamond course in Park City, Utah. As she makes her way downhill, her thoughts shift, worry setting in as she thinks about the secret she’s been keeping, a buried truth she fears can no longer stay hidden.

Rounding the last narrow pass on the ski slope, something doesn’t feel right. Her tongue is numb, her eyes blurry, making the trail in front of her too hazy to make out.

In a panic, Charlotte tries to cry out, but she’s alone, and in her hysteria she has a sinking feeling, a feeling that today will be her last.
