Serendipity at Sea

Carol Zuminello’s life is capsizing. She’s 44, with no job and maybe a boyfriend (she’s not sure where things stand). So a free vacation on the Serendipity “Sixties Surf Rock Cruise” sounds like the perfect Caribbean escape. Even if “free” entails:

-Constantly running afoul of the Serendipity’s rules-obsessed safety officer, whose attention to protocol runs counter to Carol’s laissez-faire approach to life, but whose attractions become increasingly hard to shake off,
-Chaperoning a despondent teenage niece who doesn’t want to be there, and has the eye-rolls to prove it,
-Managing an unexpected reunion with her second-grade teacher, and her shocking past.
