All I wanted was a fresh start. Instead, I got arrested.

After a brutal year, divorce, debt, and a spectacular public spiral, I’m hiding out in my gran’s small town to lick my wounds. I plan to keep my head down, rebuild my life, and definitely not cause any more trouble.

Then I walk into court and come face-to-face with Judge Holt. AKA, Jayden Holt. My first crush. My first kiss. The first boy who ever broke my heart.

Now Jayden is determined to do things by the book… which is a problem for me, because my sentence is community service: painting a mural in the very community center I vandalized.

Jayden thinks the mural will help me make things right. I think it’s the universe’s way of punishing me.

But between late-night painting sessions, small-town chaos, and one very steady man who still knows how to make me laugh, I start to wonder if my story isn’t over after all.
