In the 1940s, Kathleen marries Carl Thorne and moves to a remote cottage on Malumdon Farm, believing she has found her fresh start.

But behind closed doors, charm turns to cruelty. Isolation tightens its grip, and what begins as love becomes something far more dangerous, and irreversible.

Decades later, Edith arrives at the same cottage as it begins to be restored. As the work progresses, she uncovers traces of lives once lived there, fragments that refuse to stay buried, drawing her steadily into the past.
