Sandy Case is on the run and under the gun. A once promising Chicago reporter, her fall from grace has been breath taking. When her brilliantly talented and equally twisted ex-husband, Ben Morven, decides to make her life a living hell, she flees Chicago, hoping to start a new life far, far from him. Unable to find a job in an urban area, she jumps at the chance to work at a small Vermont newspaper, hoping that she is finally far enough away that she can escape Morven’s far reaching tentacles. But in this day and age, wherever you go, there you are. And the internet can find you no matter how well you hide. Just as she thinks she is looking at the end of her career, the story of her life falls in her lap when a prominent politician in town is murdered. Things aren’t as they seem though, so she starts digging, landing her squarely in the middle of the story…and in the sights of a murderous gang. That’s not a great strategy when you are trying to hide from your ex-husband and trying to avoid becoming the gang’s next victim. The question is though; are either of them a match for her?
