Lawson’s rule is simple.

For ten years, Lawson’s life was predictable. The same Boston coffee shop. The same corner booth. The same clean line of sight to the door.

Before that, Lawson worked for S.I.R.E., a government black cell that kept no records of its agents. He was their best ghost operator, trained to read danger, make impossible decisions, and leave no trace behind.

An apparition.

Then the ghost went missing.

He rebuilt a life with ordinary work, a small home, a loud little car, and no surprises. No attachments. No reasons to become the man he used to be.
