Some men cross the world for opportunity. John Leary crossed it for justice.

Ireland, 1850. Four years of famine have left John Leary with one choice, take the assisted passage to New South Wales or watch his future disappear entirely. He has already made his peace with leaving. Then he visits his sister Maureen in Dublin and finds her in hospital, brutally assaulted by her landlord William Baxterhouse, a man too wealthy and too connected to fear the law.
