So when her mind becomes entangled with Gemini, a mysterious double equipped with an advanced chip that endows her with the full range of human emotions, she begins to grasp what it might mean to become real.

But the sudden onslaught of fear, rage, and desire propels Gemini on a path of volatile and dangerous actions, leading Photina on a perilous quest to stop the mayhem, while on the run as a suspect in the murder of a prominent anti-AI politician.
