Award-Winning Author
The story of an American deserter in a discothèque-bar called Jacky’s Far West Saloon, which was popular with U.S. embassy employees in the late 60s and early 70s. The bar was owned by Lydie Bastien, the infamous “French Mata-Hari of WWII.” It hosted some of the most interesting characters of postwar Paris, such as the Baron de Lima, the last beatnik, and René Hardy, the accused traitor of the French Resistance, as well as a host of famous or soon-to-be-famous artists such as Dave, Sterling Hayden, Joe Dassin, and Jean Seberg.
