The Hangman’s Lie

Deke Morrow came to Slate Ridge to bury his younger brother, not to investigate his murder.

Owen Morrow was accused of killing a local banker during a robbery. Before he could stand trial, an angry mob dragged him from jail and hanged him.

Deke has no reason to doubt the evidence against his brother until Dr. Tara Wynn tells him Owen died insisting he was innocent.

Determined to learn what really happened, Deke begins asking questions.

But someone in Slate Ridge doesn’t want him finding the answers. His investigation leads to the Prentice Silver Mine, where wealthy mine owner Lee Prentice has built an empire that keeps the entire town dependent on him.
