I saw the full moon through my kitchen window and stopped mid-pour. In about thirty seconds, none of this would matter.

You’d think a 900-year-old Latina witch would get some say in where she lands. You’d be wrong.

This time: a ghost town in a dead desert, full of actual ghosts who won’t stop talking, and an assignment carved in moonlight, replant the forest that used to stand here.

The soil won’t hold life. The seeds are buried somewhere only a cursed raven with broken wings can find. And the ghost of a schoolteacher is determined to make sure nothing in this town ever changes.
