In 1942, RKO’s “Queen of the B’s,” sixty films in and still waiting for the part that mattered, begins picking up enemy radio through her temporary dental fillings. Rather than dismiss the impossible, Lucy follows the signal herself, drawing the attention of OSS Commander Blackjack Harrigan, who pulls her into one of his most dangerous classified operations: the hunt for a Japanese spy network hidden beneath wartime Los Angeles.

Harrigan counts everything and trusts nothing, least of all the actress the war has handed him. But the hidden war demands more of Lucy than any studio ever did, forging the woman who will one day build Desilu, stand up to CBS, and change television forever.
