The dead don’t pay taxes, but sometimes they collect.

In this humorous fantasy tale, Dirk Haywood and his rhyming cousin Felix roll into Riverton with their half-wolf companion expecting the usual: ale, flirtation, and maybe a tavern brawl. Instead, they find a town dressed for a wedding but hiding behind barricaded doors.

After smashing skeletal wildlife in the town square, they strike a deal with the desperate mayor: stop whatever’s raising the dead before his son says “I do.” Should be easy money. Until Riverton’s corrupt half-orc tax bureaucrat sends zombie debt collectors after them for unpaid taxes.
