Bitter Winds

In 1934, the Oklahoma Panhandle is suffering through the worst of the Dust Bowl. Blinding dust storms sweep across the plains, cattle are starving, and ranches are failing. Joe Banks has managed to hold his 30,000-acre JB Ranch together, but a looming mortgage payment threatens to undo everything he has worked so hard to preserve. Making matters worse, the banker holding his note is a man Joe has openly accused of being a crook.

When the banker is found murdered along the JB fence line, Joe becomes the prime suspect. And when gunmen attack the home of a young bank clerk, Joe’s daughter Marty and son Wade must unravel the mystery—and discover why someone wants the JB Ranch badly enough to kill for it.

Brimming with mystery, danger, romance, and the enduring bonds of family, Ron Schwab’s latest Western novel is a gripping tale of murder, greed, and a family’s determination to hold on to its land.
