Another Body in Brooklyn

It’s New Year’s Day, 2014. Joshua Rothchild, a young NYPD sergeant, and his officers respond to the city’s first homicide of the year. The victim is a middle-aged ex-con, found riddled with bullets in a hallway. After an embarrassing mishap at the crime scene, Josh is soon bitten during a violent encounter with a suspect. He was already considering a career change, and recent events are pushing him to leave policing for good.

Amid the flurry of police activity in their Brooklyn precinct, no one gives much thought to the New Year’s Day homicide. But as the weeks go by, a dogged detective named Espinoza continues to investigate a murder that everyone else has forgotten.
