The Ghost In The Stacks

Ashwood Public Library has four hundred and eleven feet of shelving, two ghosts, and one cat.

Until the second Thursday in October, librarian Ellie Ward would have told you she knew where everything in it was. Then Footnote started scratching at the basement wall.

What came out had been in there since 1925, still wearing a good suit. The bones belong to Silas Vance, the architect who designed the library before vanishing with fifty thousand dollars in construction funds. Ashwood has called him a thief for a hundred years.
