Hunting Pretty

There are monsters in the shadows. She just doesn’t know which one to fear.

She looks so pretty when she cries out in her sleep. I’m obsessed by her gasps when she hears me coming for her. Hooked on the way she fights me when I pin her down.

I’ve been hunting Ava since before she knew my name. Watching. Waiting. Making sure no one else gets close.

When she starts digging into a missing friend’s disappearance, I try to pull her back. She’s getting too close to a darkness she wasn’t built to survive, and to secrets I’ve killed to protect.
