The Brass Whistle

The lake remembers what the town wants forgotten.

Twelve-year-old Mara Thorsen has barely arrived in the small Lake Superior town of Bristle Harbor when she finds an old brass whistle buried among the rocks.

She blows it once.

The wind stops.

The lake goes silent.

And a wall of fog begins moving toward shore.

With her new friends Tess, Ozzie, and Jax, Mara soon discovers the whistle is more than an eerie piece of local history. Strange objects are washing out of the fog. Touching them reveals glimpses of the past. And every clue seems to point toward Beacon Point Lighthouse and a shipwreck the town has remembered the same way for generations.
