Apples & Alibis

Some family trees are rotten to the root.

Private investigator Gaia “Gee” Root traded the chaos of the city for the quiet of Silver Root Acres, her family’s cozy farm in the little town of Silverlake. She came home for peace, ripening Honeycrisp, and maybe a fresh start. What she got was a body under the orchard trees.

When a wealthy developer turns up dead beneath the family’s branches, killed by a single poisoned apple grown in Root soil, the whole valley starts whispering. The evidence points straight at the people Gee loves most, and the sheriff’s list of suspects has her family’s name right at the top.

Now Gee has one handsome and suspicious sheriff, a chaos-loving mother, and a very good dog to help her clear the Root name before an arrest is made. But the deeper she digs, the darker the roots grow, and some secrets were buried for a reason.

Can Gee catch a killer before her family takes the fall? Or will the next harvest come with another body?
