The Previous Interpreter

On her first day of work as a telephone interpreter, Kira can already tell she has her work cut out for her. The interpreter she was hired to replace has mysteriously vanished, her new co-workers alternate between friendliness and hostility, and even home is not an escape, as Kira’s cozy house sitting arrangement is soon interrupted by anonymous calls and odd happenings.

To top it all off is Kira’s grandfather, who insists on giving her a hard time about not attending her cousin’s wedding, while criticizing Kira’s own singlehood. Not that Kira can do much about it. Secretly, she harbors a crush on a famous pop star, who, amidst the train wreck of her life, she may just get to meet after all.

If she stays alive long enough, that is.
