When young Achak sets out on his Spirit Walk, he seeks only to prove himself as a hunter. Instead, he is marked by visions, spirit guardians, and a destiny far greater than he imagined.

As white settlers and heavily armed regiments push into tribal lands, sickness and war devastate the plains. Tribes fall. Nations fracture. Childhood ends.

Guided by the Great Spirit and the wisdom of the bear, wolf, owl, and lion, Achak must grow from boy to warrior… and from warrior to leader. Through brutal battles, heartbreaking loss, and profound spiritual awakenings, he strives to become the unifying force his people desperately need.
