After losing her job, her boyfriend, and her apartment in one disastrous week, Becca Trevor retreats home to St. Caroline for what she’s calling Operation: Figure Out Her Life. So far, it’s not going well. Case in point: her first night back, she gets trapped inside her mother’s quilt shop as it goes up in flames.

Worse? She’s rescued by none other than Jack Wolfe, the man she thought she’d left in the past for good.

Jack was once the golden boy of St. Caroline, Ivy League bound and destined for a high-powered legal career far away from his family’s legacy in the fire department. Now he’s back for the summer under the guise of helping out with a family emergency. Pretending to be the successful corporate lawyer everyone expects is easy… until Becca shows up and threatens to unravel his carefully crafted lie.
