Benjamin Bauman is a Jewish doctor living in 2019 when an accident violently displaces him backward in time. He awakens in Nazi Germany in 1937, fluent in German, stripped of his identity, and issued a new one. To the regime, he is now Karl Schroder, a decorated Generalarzt and chief surgeon at a German hospital, a position that cloaks his Jewish heritage but places him at the heart of the Third Reich.
